Codec Development

Video Software Development Services

Through our long-standing association with leaders in the 2D/3D graphics market (whose products often contained video components), Intelligraphics accumulated significant and early experience developing device drivers, firmware, and software codecs for streaming video technologies. Intelligraphics has completed video implementations across a variety of PC and embedded technologies and platforms.

Operating System Support

Intelligraphics' current operating system focus includes Symbian, Windows CE, Linux, Palm, and Nucleus as well as PC Windows (XP/2000) and Linux. However, Intelligraphics has also provided development services for other PC operating systems including Apple's Mac OS X and UNIX as well as legacy operating systems including Windows NT 4.0/3.51, Windows 9x, Windows Me, Windows 3.1 and OS/2, etc.

Video Device Drivers

Intelligraphics has provided primary video/miniport driver and video capture driver support for numerous leading PC and embedded systems hardware manufacturers. These drivers have supported a variety of video components including kernel stream class and AVStream based minidrivers, DirectShow filters, and the DirectX Video API with iDCT, Variable Length Decoding, and Motion Compensation. Also, in conjunction with our display driver projects, Intelligraphics has provided enhancements such as video port extensions, I2C, bob and weave, TV tuner support, and video overlay management for multiple streams.

Software Video Codec Development

Intelligraphics is experienced at providing software to encode and decode video formats which do not have video hardware or operating system support integrated into the system. We provide our clients with software video codec development to support MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, DVB-H, and Windows Media Video Codec 9. Our teams are also available to emulate other codec technologies in software.

DSP Video Codec Firmware Development

Our senior-level development teams retain the expertise to develop DSP EEPROM, EPROM, and ROM based firmware codecs to support the encoding and decoding of compression formats such as MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, DVB-H, and Windows Media Video Codec 9. Intelligraphics has considerable experience providing firmware solutions for a number of today's leading DSP manufacturers including Texas Instruments and Analog Devices.

Custom Video Development

Intelligraphics video services include the development of video APIs for proprietary operating systems and application-specific video playback driver support. Our video teams have also provided assistance to companies requiring the rewriting of legacy video applications to use DirectShow and DirectDraw while maintaining compatibility with existing applications.
