Linux Driver for Atheros 802.11 Chipsets
Support for the AR5210, AR5211, AR5212 and AR5213
Intelligraphics has created a Linux station driver to support Atheros' 802.11 products. Developed to support kernel version 2.4.x and 2.6.x, these drivers have been based Atheros' own Windows driver code and support nearly all the features as the Atheros Windows* driver including:
- Support for both Adhoc and Infrastructure modes
- Support for 64/128 WEP
- 802.1x Authentication
- 802.11 Roaming
- Rate Adaptation
- 802.11 Power Management
- 802.11 Fragmentation Support
- Supports Atheros Turbo Mode (108Mbps)
- Supports 802.1h
- WPA (May require customization for your Linux supplicant)
WEP Key Table Management supports addition and update of keys
Based on signal strength/retry statistics
Functions with scan/join state machine code
Supports automatic (best supported) rate adaptation with automatic rate fallback after excessive
retries
Supports Beacon TIM/DTIM processing
Supports NULL data frames to AP
*There is not always a direct mapping of Windows OID calls to Linux IoCtl calls and so we have implemented the most important ones. If a feature that you require is not listed, then it can most likely be implemented very quickly by adding the appropriate IoCtl call.
